Christening of ‘Grutte Pier’

A special moment for our company. The barge the ‘Grutte Pier’ has had a major overhaul and is completely ready for the new season.

94-year-old Fokje Minkema christened the ‘Grutte Pier’ which is already over 100. In cooperation with Scheepsbouw Kroes, we installed a new railing and improved the entry and exit for guests. The foredeck has been made smaller so that more people have a place to sit. The screen for the Second Screen Grachten Toer has been given a nice spot.

The video is a small impression of the ceremony and the photos show the renovations to the barge ‘Grutte Pier’.

Doop 'Grutte Pier' Een bijzonder moment voor ons bedrijf. De praam de 'Grutte Pier' heeft een flinke opknapbeurt gehad en is helemaal klaar voor het nieuwe seizoen. De 94 jarige Fokje Minkema doopte de 'Grutte Pier' die al over de honderd is. In samenwerking met Scheepsbouw Kroes hebben we een nieuwe reling geplaatst en de op- en afstap voor de gasten verbeterd. Het voordek is kleiner gemaakt zodat er meer mensen een plekje hebben. Het scherm voor de Second Screen Grachten Toer heeft een mooie plek gekregen.
