Canal tour combined with lunch at De Koperen Tuin
In 1648, the park, also known as a pleasure garden, was commissioned by Prince William Frederick of Nassau. William Frederik eventually became stadholder and belonged to the Frisian Oranges. The park served as a tribute to the end of the Eighty Years' War and the Peace of Münster.
Only 150 years later, the park was made accessible to the inhabitants of Leeuwarden by King William I. The name ‘De Koperen Tuin’ is derived from Simon Vestdijk's novel of the same name, part of the story of which is set in the Prinsentuin.
De Koperen Tuin is located in enchanting surroundings, namely in the green heart of Leeuwarden. The Prinsentuin offers a beautiful setting for a wide audience.
At ‘De Koperen Tuin’, you have the opportunity to hold a meeting, organise a conference, a reception or a party. With this package, you can also combine these activities with a unique cruise through the city in one of our prams. For example, you can have a meeting first and then sail, or vice versa. A lunch arrangement or drinks arrangement can also be served on board.
